Just to help students in their higher education journey » Borneo Online Bulletin

Findlay Education Services Agency is hosting its first post-pandemic in-person international study fair on Wednesday at Centrepoint Hotel in Gadong to help students consider their higher education options.

Representatives from institutions around the world will be on hand to chat with students and provide information to guide them in their future study plans. The International Study Fair will offer a variety of options for higher education, featuring a wide range of entry requirements and destinations in the UK, Australia, Malaysia, Canada, the US and Europe.

Expanding these options Providers will offer an alternative pathway to entry into higher education with foundation-level studies or with parallel first-degree equivalency for students who have missed entry deadlines or requirements.

These on-campus programs facilitate students’ transition into university life, without lengthening their studies.

Findlay advisors will represent their partner universities and colleges who are unable to participate in the fair.

They will also feature employability workshops and Moresby assessments for career profiles for students who are unsure of which career and educational paths to pursue.

The public and private sectors will also support the fair. Ministry of Education officers from the Brunei Darussalam National Accreditation Board and Scholarships Department will be available for related inquiries.

Information from a local bank on student bank loans and on IELTS English tests will also be available at the fair.

Sunita Martin, Managing Director, said: “Now that travel restrictions have eased, I am delighted to welcome back university representatives to Brunei.

“During the pandemic, we’ve had to move these interactions online, and while events have been well attended, there is certainly a buzz with Study Fair events that cannot be replicated at online events.

“In recent weeks we have already seen visits from representatives from several universities such as Taylors, Birmingham, St Andrews, Dundee and Queen’s Belfast, all of whom have seen high levels of interest from schools and prospective students.”

She added: “We are proud of the unique service we provide which is comprehensive, personalized and long term.

We start by evaluating the student’s academic background, interests and aspirations, and matching them with appropriate study destinations.

We then help them with applications, visas, pre-departure information sessions and stay in touch throughout their studies.

“When they graduate, they have free access to employability-specific workshops like resume writing, presentation and interview skills.”
