Dr. Chrissy Holiday appointed Vice President for Enrollment Management and Student Success

Dr. Chrissy Holliday has been appointed Vice President of Enrollment and Student Success Management at Cal Poly Humboldt. Her term began on January 1, 2023.

He will lead Dr. Holiday new student recruitment and support keep and succeed of current students. You will lead the Department of Enrollment Management and Student Success (Admissions, Financial Aid, and Office of the Registrar), which includes the Dean’s Office of Students, EOP/TRiO Programs, Cultural Centers for Academic Excellence, Student Health and Welfare Services, and Housing and Residence.

“I am very impressed with Chrissy’s expertise and knowledge, and I believe she will make a huge impact at Humboldt. She has a deep commitment to reaching out, supporting students from diverse backgrounds, and creating a positive experience on campus,” said Cal Poly Humboldt President Tom Jackson, Jr. Poly Humboldt and in the entire Lumberjack community. “

Dr. Holliday brings with her nearly two decades of experience in higher education. Currently serving as the Senior Liaison for Rural Education and Workforce Initiatives at Colorado State University Pueblo, Dr. Holiday connects Southern Colorado with the resources of the Colorado State University system to ensure access to higher education and efforts that support regional workforce development needs.

As someone who has focused on enrollment and student success throughout my graduate education career, I look forward to being a part of Humboldt Polytechnic Transformation,” Dr. Holliday says. “I am excited to help lead an organization focused on access to underrepresented students, and my family looks forward to calling Humboldt Home .”

She served as Vice President of Enrollment and Student Affairs at Colorado State University at Pueblo and Director of Admissions, where she successfully promoted strategic planning and formed strong partnerships across campus and within the local community. She was director of the Enrollment Department at the University of South Carolina Salkhachey. Dr. Holiday also has extensive experience outside of higher education, including higher education consulting, marketing, public relations and journalism.

Dr. Holliday holds a BA in Mass Communication from Campbell University. She received a Master’s degree in Education with a specialization in Recording Management from Capella University, and a Ph.D. in Education Studies and Human Resources/Higher Education Leadership from Colorado State University.

Born in South Carolina and raised in Lincolnton, North Carolina, Dr. Holiday is the first in her immediate family to attend college. She says this experience has informed her commitment to increasing access to higher education. “I understand the challenges and concerns that first generation students face. Their struggles and determination to succeed inspire me to do so What I do every day,” says Dr. Holiday. She is looking forward to moving to the area with her husband Jason and their son in December.
